
Adam D. Sussman is Of Counsel at Novick, Kim & Lee, PLLC. Dr. Sussman is a registered U.S. patent attorney with more than a decade of experience in intellectual property law. His practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, strategic patent portfolio development and management, client counseling, due diligence, freedom-to-operate investigations, and patent opinions concerning validity and infringement.
Dr. Sussman has particular experience in battery and electrochemical technologies, including battery electrolytes, electrochemistry, electrodes, lithium intercalation, fuel cells, and processor-controlled battery cell technologies. His practice also covers a broad range of pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, medical device, electrical, mechanical, aerospace, and aviation technologies.
Prior to joining NKL Law, Dr. Sussman practiced at several prominent law firms, where he prepared and prosecuted patent applications and managed worldwide patent filing strategies and global patent portfolios.
Dr. Sussman received his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School, where he was a Markey Distinguished Scholar in Intellectual Property and Managing Editor of The John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry, with a focus in synthetic organic chemistry, from the University of Illinois Chicago and his B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
