Sangmin Kang

Associate Attorney

Sangmin Kang is an Associate Attorney at NKL LAW with more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property law. Her practice focuses on U.S. and international patent and trademark prosecution, IP portfolio management, and strategic counseling. She has extensive experience handling patent and trademark applications for both domestic and international clients, including prosecution strategy, responses to Office Actions, prior art analysis, and coordination of global IP portfolios.

Prior to joining NKL LAW, Sangmin served as a U.S. Attorney and Team Manager at WELL Patent Law Firm (formerly L&K Patent Firm) for nearly 17 years. In that role, she managed international IP matters, prepared and prosecuted patent and trademark applications, handled Office Action responses, conducted prior art searches, and worked on IP licensing agreements and cancellation proceedings.

Sangmin also brings a strong technical background in computer science and information technology. Before entering the legal profession, she worked in systems programming, software development, and database design. Her combination of legal and technical experience enables her to understand complex technologies and effectively assist clients in developing and protecting their intellectual property.
